WDW 50th Anniversary Models
Alright, So I know there's a couple of you who have connections with both Disney & the Model Train Manufacturers, and since WDW's 50th Anniversary is coming up next year, I wanted to suggest and idea for a Walt Disney World Railroad 50th Anniversary Model Series to be produced by the masters at MTH, since they have the Walter E. Disney is the basis for their Old-Timey 4-6-0. Anyway, here's my proposal for a Limited Edition Walt Disney World Railroad 50th Anniversary Product Line:
1. Walter E. Disney Locomotive (Normal Variant, Limited to 10,000 units)
2. 100 Series Excursion Cars (Normal Variant, limited to 10,000 units)
3. Walter E. Disney Locomotive (Gold Variant, limited to 1,971 units.)
4. 100 Series Excursion Cars (Gold Variant, also limited to 1,971 units.)
Anyway, the locomotives would include ProtoSound 3.0 with prototype-accurate whistle & bell, ProtoSmoke, DCS compatibility, and special WDWRR announcements. The Passenger Cars will include interior lighting, and the gold variants include gloves for handling purposes. Anyway, What do you think?

Two thoughts:
1. Agreed, those are gorgeous models! Very fine work. Thanks for sharing!
2. The odds of MTH doing any Disney product is nil. We had the Walter E. Disney running in a custom display at the Disney Gallery in Disneyland in 2011. The deal fell through for reasons I cannot share here. It's a shame, as the model really looked great. You can see a brief video of it in action here: https://youtu.be/MmPYOXRU77k

Re: WDW 50th Anniversary Models
I had forgotten all about that MTH WDWRR 1 and how great it looked. Just curious, what ever happened to that one prototype that was running in the video? I sure hope that it did not meet the fate of most prototype and display models in the automotive industry that have a date with the crusher once their time in the spotlight is over.
Wow has it been *that* long (2011) since that display in The Disney Gallery? Sheesh - time flies!
