Are you going to hand-paint everything?

Honestly I don't believe I can. I'd consider it on a full scale locomotive. This one, the details are too intricate. I'm planning on using my patterns and printing them/cutting them with a Cricut. And just peel and stick them on. I want it to look nice and my painting skills with a brush are a bit too jittery on something that small.

it's always possible, but it will be a while. Today I did some pin striping on the domes and headlamp and got rid of the green paint on the running boards. She's starting to shine!!!

So you had decals made. Now I get it. It looks great, just as good or better than hand-painting. I thought you were just going to use the paper.
