Since my wife is from Shanhgai and her family still lives there, we both are very excited about the newest Disneyland park that is being built as I type this. We for sure will be visiting it when it opens, supposedly sometime in 2015. (Shanghai is a fantastic city.)
I haven't seen much about this park. Granted there aren't a whole lot of Disneyfans in China where the whole concept is way out there in left field and regarded by the general public as a "kids thing only" and immature but I would have thought that by now at least one or two Disneyfans would post something about the park somewhere online...not much! Does anyone know anything about if there will be a train ride there? If so, will it be steam or maybe Severn Lamb powered steam outline like the HKDRR?
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the acronym "S.H.D.R.R." will actually mean something starting in 2015.

Re: Shanghai DIsneyland Railroad
With the regulations that they have in China, I'm almost willing to bet that it will be a steam outline like Hong Kong. The last I heard of the project, they were having quality control issues with the construction and that they are way behind schedule with the projected timeline so its more than likely that the opening date might be further along then 2015 at this point.Locoboy5150 wrote:Since my wife is from Shanhgai and her family still lives there, we both are very excited about the newest Disneyland park that is being built as I type this. I've heard that there will not be a railroad at Shanghai Disneyland Railroad.

Which would be really odd but then again I'm also hearing rumors that they won't have attractions like Small World and Pirates as well so it might be plausible but that would be almost unthinkable for a Disney park not to have a railroad.CC4455 wrote:I've heard that there will not be a railroad at Shanghai Disneyland Railroad.

I know there will be a different version of pirates. I walked into a shop working on bits for the ride
Re: Shanghai DIsneyland Railroad
When the original map design came out, there was not a railroad featured on there. I hope it changes!

I know that they're working on something that is somewhat along the same lines but is interactive and supposedly has the water equivalent of a trackless ride system but only time can tell I suppose.tractor wrote:I know there will be a different version of pirates.
