Modeler's Resource: Pictures of the Disneyland Paris Trains

Post by aftx »

Post your pictures of the Disneyland Paris Trains!

Just wanted to start a thread where the only real purpose is to post pictures of the Disneyland Paris trains, stations, and equipment. Wish I had more to contribute myself, but ya gotta start somewhere.

Please post your pics of the Disneyland Paris operations here, even if you've posted them elsewhere under other topics and categories. Might make a good resource for modelers.

First up: My picture of the G. Washington (locomotive #3) at DLP from the summer of 2002. Yes, just a single picture. Back then I was blissfully unaware of this forum or I would have taken a LOT more. Forgive me. But please post your own pics!

I'd LOVE to see more pics of the Paris trains. I'm headed there in April for our honeymoon. ;) Pics are hard to find from what I've tried to search for on the 'Net.

If the Paris 4-4-0s can have tapered running boards and tender collar, why can't the DL 4-4-0s? :(

Pardon my ignorance but what is a tender collar Steve? I agree I like the tapered running boards better then straight ones.

I assume he means the angled rim of the tender tank. Often called a 'tank collar' see:

I see! I also reread what Steve typed he likes how the tender collars are tapperd. Those are kind of neat! I am just use to seeing the DLRR with straight tender collars. Did either the DLRR Holiday or Ripley ever have tappered tender collars.

The Holliday originally had a tapered collar before the tender was rebuilt a few years ago, using the Ripley tender as a model...Just another little detail down the drain (along with the tapered running boards and the beaded brass boiler bands--also MIA).

Just got back from Paris. Here are some pics of Euro Disneyland Railroad (they still call it that) #1, the W.F. Cody and its cars, 11 Silverton, 12 Durango, 13 Denver, 14 Wichita, 15 Cheyenne. They ran three of the four trains during the course of the day (May 19, 2010) -- #2, the Holliday, was out for service. Had a lot of fun taking these. Unlike Anaheim, there is actually a single spot in the park where you can get an unobstructed view of an ENTIRE train car! BTW: Would it hurt to cut some trees along the Rivers of America and let Walt's stream ship and steam trains see each other just now and then?? Seriously. But I digress...Image
