Yeah, after every run, they take the american flags off the pilot beam and sell them in the gift shop for $20 I think. Bill could tell more about this...

Sounds cool... I was thinking of something like that with the Main Street USA flags. Just like you can get a flag flown over the US Capitol Building, get your flag flown over Disney World.

Yes, it is true. We still fly them everyday but during the Winter they are not that hot, no pun intended, as they are in the Summer. If anyone wants a set just let me know. If you pay for shipping I'll just get you a set. We are only running the 473 right now just for your info. Thank's! This is on the QT by the Way!!:blues:

On the collectible side, I just took possession of an original 1955 Disneyland conductors hat with the real wicker and an original "stamped" SF&D hat badge attached. Also an original smaller SF&D patch, Retlaw Executive pass, and the first issue Lilli Belle pass completely intact. There may be more to come! :p

That hat gets around! It is now back in California and I consider it one of my prized Disneyland possessions.

The hat is in great condition considering its age and Bill will be sending me some photos of Ken Kohler, the first roundhouse supervisor, wearing it. But my favorites have got to be my custom built C.K. Holliday, E.P. Ripley, Lilly Belle car and Retlaw1 consist that was made by someone REALLY special!

Actually, Earl Vilmer was the first supervisor. Ken Kohler started out as a "brakeman," and here is a photo of him wearing the hat with a brakeman badge:

Thanks for the correction and photo, Steve. The hat has been extremely well protected. The fabric shows no sign of fading, the wicker and leather isn't cracked. The braid is a little faded but that's all; the castle buttons are still shiny and the stamped conductor badge is in mint condition. I keep it in a display case out of direct sunlight so here's hoping it will last another 50+ years.
