Issues with Mark VIIs?

Post by TFN5459 »

Recently in their In the Parks article of August 5 2011, Micechat reported that the Disneyland Monorails are having serious issues. I hear that Red is out the rest of the summer, the golden gate bridge removal is causing delays and that Orange and Blue are alternating days resulting in long wait times. I also heard a rumor that Blue and Orange are on their last thread, can anyone confirm this?

They've been off and on, blue and orange operating solo alternatively (there have been a few days were both were running). Red has been out and probably won't return for a while. I would take that last "rumor" with a grain of salt.

We only saw Orange when we were there 7/12, 7/14-7/18.

Was in the park on the 7/25 and 7/26 only saw Orange running and the line was 45 min long. First trip to Disneyland without riding the Monorail.

Specifically, what "mechanical issues" do the monorails have?

The faulty Air Conditioning has been one and the loose electrical pick up shoes have especially one that has bothered me since it happens 3 to 4 times every single visit Ive been. I have tried asking castmembers but they dont know anything mechanical wise. Ill probably be walking when I visit next week. With all these problems, I really appreciate all that the Mark Vs have done for the park

I thought that the Mark VIIs didn't even have A/C inside.

^ Only in the nose-cones. Most likely the work has to do with the suspension and a few other things.
