Disney train merchandise

Post by Steve DeGaetano »

Builder's plate replicas. Fort Wildnerness engines in both live-steam and electric. Lilly Belle models in HO and large scale. Collectible pins. Prints and posters. Books, even!

It really is amazing how much fan-based Disney train collectibles are out there. It seems Disney has really dropped the ball in terms of what it could have produced and sold on its own.

But I am definitely thankful that people such as Michael Campbell and Bill Colley have stepped into the vacuum to create some really meorable and beautiful pieces.

Boscovs has a sale on the HO Carolwood Pacific sets. It's a buy more, save more deal. Basically it's $79.99/set, plus $19 shipping, for whatever number you buy. If you buy one, there's an additional $8 discount, $24 off for two, and $16 a piece for three or more.

That works out to one set, $91 delivered; two sets, $155; three sets, $211. Sale ends today, 11/6.

Missed this before: Boscov's may charge more for shipping multiples of these large items. But they inform you ahead of time, so you can cancel your order with no penalty.

I have to agree. It really surprises me that marketing would miss this opportunity to sell much wanted Steam Train memorabilia! I would love to see shirts like the ones made for the Marsh, for every locomotive! You could actually create a whole store dedicated to the DRR! And I think sales would be brisk!

That's a good idea. Good enough to motivate me to go to the park, anyway! :D

Disneyland will have a major train merchandise event later this year. I will share details of what and when as soon as I can.

(Note to those of you who are about to type a response like, "How much will the (fill-in-the-blank) sell for?" and, "I called Disneyland DelivEars and they don't know anything about this.": I will share details of what and when as soon as I can. I was asked by Disneyland to let you know that there will be a major train merchandise event, but the details are not yet final and we all appreciate your patience. :D )

Looking forward to hearing the details! I do hope they are keeping us not-quite-so-big-spenders in mind, too.
