(Sorry. Couldn't help myself).
I will share details of what and when as soon as I can.

(I had this response all ready to go. :) And I hope everyone understands that I'm not intentionally teasing you with information. The Park is considering a number of options and the final selections of products and designs isn't final. They don't want to disappoint anyone because something that was being considered early on didn't make the final cut. But they are hopeful what they do offer will please fans of the DLRR and WDWRR. This is why they asked me to let you all know that they've heard your requests for more railroad-related items and that a major program is in the works.)

I know Michael. I was just facetiously pre-empting what is usually an actual request for more information from someone who fails to read the full thread.

We're all patiently (if anxiously) awaiting your announcement!

Would any of the potential products happen to be any of the one's mentioned here?

Michael,

Can you tell us a little about how something like this comes about? It seems that often, train merch is released in huge deluges, with nothing but pins available between major outbursts. I am specifically recalling the 2002 onslaught of Marsh merch--pins, mugs, prints, models, jackets.

Obviously, I'm not complaining--I'm just curious why when it comes to Disney trains, "when it rains, it pours?" Do merchandisers see pent-up demand and respond accordingly? Why don't we see more of a steady release of cool train stuff?

How utterly cool would a DRR lantern be? Especially if its an Adlake?

Thanks for the teaser CP173. I'll anxiously wait for the final announcement.

Do they do any surveys of Disney railfans before they release merchandise? After all, we're going to be the ones spending our hard earned cash on these items.

...just wondering based on their questionable DRR pins in the past.

I don't believe Michael was involved with any of those questionable pin releases...

Two things:

1. You didn't hear any of that from me.
2. There are lots of things being considered, but the roster is not final yet.

To Steve's point, you're right: I have had nothing to do with pins.

And to Locoboy's point: Yes, they do run ideas past railfans and Disney collectors.
