Looks like Todd was a member here: "Big Red."

He passed in April.

The comments at Amazon go quite a ways to explaining the appeal of the book.

In my opinion, it is a MUST HAVE book if you're a Disneyland fan.

Got mine for $75.

That is rather strange tone, almost like she had to "put up with all the trains" for several years and just wants to get them out her sight.

Several months ago before Todd passed away, he contacted me to do some model work which included a full Casey Jr. train in G scale (since he saw the Gn15 version I did) with all kinds specifications like adding smoke, sound, and retrofitting the Accucraft Casey; I declined since at the time I my hands where just too full with other priorities and I didn't have enough experience in G scale to carry out that commission.

I wonder would happen to the model now if I did do that commission!

Train collectors would likely undervalue the hand-built Lilly Belle. Something like that, and maybe The Nickel Tours might do better at a place like Sotheby's.

It would be interesting to see what she has. I'd probably like some of it! And if SF is San Francisco, maybe the Disney museum might be another place interested in some of the things.

What a strange series of letters. It sounds like the widow absolutely despised her late husband's hobbies and interests and thus needs to take it out on those that shared similar passions by not only burning his valuable possessions but by sharing her actions with someone (Steve) else. This is *exactly* why it's so important to have a will and really think about who will appreciate those things that are important to you once you are no longer around to do the same.

It must be nice to be in that widow's position in life where you can afford to burn valuable and expensive things like that. I'm not envious of her in any way though because to be *that* bitter about someone's hobbies is not a trait that I would like to have.

Of the two people involved, only one person left knows the logic of her actions though so I'm sure that in her mind they are justified.
"Hello folks. Welcome aboard the Disneyland Railroad."

That's not very nice. Not everyone has people to give things to.

I don't see any "mean-ness" implied. Besides, even if someone doesn't have "people," stuff can be willed to museums or foundations...
