The new trailer for Toy Story 3 shows Woody at the helm of a roughly Lilly Belle scaled locomotive. Its numbered 95 for the year the first Toy Story was released. I can't make out the lettering on the tender, but it closely resembles the C.K. Holliday.

Quite a cliff hanger there.
Re: Lilly Belle in Toy Story 3?
Wow, I was going to post the same kind of thread with screenshots! That was something that grabbed my attention. It's not really the Lilly Belle (even with a different color scheme) and I can't figure out what kind of sequence it is, like a dream, a video game, a garden railroad or live steam (that would be great!). But then again, they have an exploding trestle where the fire appears in scale, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Lilly Belle in Toy Story 3?
It definitely has several traits, or markers, that link it more closely with the Holliday than the Lilly Belle.
First and foremost would be the steam dome that sits lower than the cab roof. You hardly ever see that on real 4-4-0s.
The pilot also seems to have the diagonal braces between the slats that appear on the Holliday's pilot--but on precious few other prototype engines.
The cab also has a hatch--which the LB doesn't have. The sheet-metal plate attached to the Holliday's cab front (where the handrails attach in the render) is also present--a very insignficant, but apparent, detail (although I don't think the Hollidays handrails attach to the plate). The fact that the plate is there at all is signficant.
Next would be the stack shape--defintiely CP/SP/and now DL. Then there's the headlight bracket--also CP/SP/DL. The boiler bands and cab trim also line up with the Holliday's, and not the LB's.
The air tank under the running board is different, however, as are the smokebox rivets.
Even with the minor deviations, I'd bet dollars to donuts that the render was based on the C.K. Holliday.

So, Central Pacific 173 -> Lilly Belle -> Holliday -> Woody's 4-4-0?

Pretty much, Roy.Roy wrote:So, Central Pacific 173 -> Lilly Belle -> Holliday -> Woody's 4-4-0?
A reliable source has confirmed that the render is indeed based on the C.K. Holliday (with the modifications mentioned, as well as a few others).

I can see the problem with the trestle: NO SPIKES!
That almost always leads to an explosion.

Well, I spied some Lego(barf) Toy Story 3 trains in the local MegaLoMart. Neither of the sets had track. They might be of interest to some very young, really tasteless children.
Re: Lilly Belle in Toy Story 3?
The Lego Toy Story train looks pretty cool...but at $80 or 15 cents a brick....a bit high priced!

Re: Lilly Belle in Toy Story 3?
Saw the movie this weekend, and I must say it surpassed my high expectations. Toy Story 3 > Toy Story 2 > Toy Story. Not to many three-quels can claim that. I was also surprised by the very heavy, emotionally-weighted, climax of the film. Having known these characters for fifteen years, I felt like I was saying goodbye to old friends.
