DRR pin

Post by Steve DeGaetano »

So a pin that sort of flew under my radar is one of the 2023 Walk in Walt’s Footsteps pins. The pin features a very accurate rendition of the E.P. Ripley from the front. The locomotive is rendered in perspective, and is almost spot-on in terms of detail and proportion (it’s missing one of the smokebox door hinges. Go figure?).

Mickey in his engineer outfit stands near the pilot. I prefer DRR pins sans characters, but the locomotive is so nice that I’ll make the exception.

The pin is the largest in my collection, at 3.5” from pilot tip to top of the stack.

And, in perhaps a Disney first, the headlight glows in the dark! I have not seen this feature advertised, and discovered it quite by accident.
