EP is officially back on the line on March 6

About the refurb:
The restoration process required the team to replicate the original boiler, the headlamp and bell to bring the locomotive back to its original splendor. “We replicated some of the original parts, since they aren’t manufactured anymore,” said Tarun Khanna, lead mechanical engineer. “Everything is mechanical and runs like a steam engine from the past, from the boiler all the way down to the whistle.”

Here's a video from a few days ago of DRR Engine 2's first day back in service:

The bell does sound a little weird to my eyes. It will take some getting used to.

A bit late to the game here, but I would assume that is a new bell yoke right? It certainly looks bigger than the original (would make sense with a larger bell) but also is lacking the air ringer cylinder mount that used to be there on the engineer's side.

Whoops, that should be "ears" and not "eyes."

I was all set to say that it never had an air cylinder butI looked at my pictures and it indeed did. Was it ever connected to the bell? In my photos it doesn't seem to do anything.

Not during my lifetime as far back as I can remember...and I'm getting up there in years too!
