Realizing there's a whole section devoted to drawings, I might as well as this. Although no help to modelers here, this is an elevation I did for one of Steve DeGaetano's articles of the Ernest S. Marsh as it was coming out of Baldwin's shops. Although not Disney material, it may or may not be an appropriate addition to our growing library.
Ernest S. Marsh Drawing (Pre-Disney Days)

Thanks, Sam!
Re: Ernest S. Marsh Drawing (Pre-Disney Days)
Mr. Towler,
It's a nice drawing, love the colors, however there are technical inaccuracies in the running gear.
Get ahold of librarian Cynthia Franco at the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University in Texas. From their Baldwin Locomotive Works drawing collection order Index #520-55 which has on it the Erecting Cards #11645 & #11780.
Erecting Card #11645 was used to build Baldwin Locomotive 4-11C-429 for the Hydraulic Press Brick Co. in 1924
Erecting Card #11780 was used to build Baldwin Locomotive 4-11C-431 for the Raritan River Sand Co. in 1925
Of course 4-11C-431 is the "Earnest S. Marsh" as-built.
Cheers,
Curtis F.
*EDIT* Yes, I realize this is an old topic, but I didn't know the original Baldwin Erecting Card existed for the Marsh when this topic was started in 2010. *EDIT*

Re: Ernest S. Marsh Drawing (Pre-Disney Days)
Curtis, can you give us some more detail? When you order index 520-55, what is sent? A hard copy? Or can it be e-mailed? Is there a cost?Curtis_F wrote:Mr. Towler,

Re: Ernest S. Marsh Drawing (Pre-Disney Days)
Steve,
It's a been few years since I've personally dealt with the DeGolyer Library, at that time they only sold full-size hard copies of the original Baldwin Loco. Works drawings. The price was $30.00 a sheet.
The Erecting card is about 17" x 24" with Side Elevation and Cross Section drawings of the locomotive drawn at 1" scale.
Compared to the Erecting Card the most obvious inaccuracies are the front and rear potions of the Frame are the the wrong style. The Front and Rear Beams are the wrong size. As built the Beams were almost square at 12" deep x 13" tall. The coupler pockets were much higher and had lips that sat on top of the beams. Driver Springs are too high above the Drivers and too short. There was a 6-1/2" gap between the Water Tank and the Cab.
Less clear variances are The Brake Shaft looks too small and too close to the rear driver. The Steam and Sand Domes are also "off" just a touch in their profile. The Cab roof too small. The Back Head of the Boiler should be visible in the large Cab window.
Hope this help,
Curtis
