C.P. Locomotive No. 173 Blueprints owned by Dick Bagley
Hello everyone, i recently found a set of blueprints (real deal) belonging to Dick Bagley, he was the person that commisioned E. Sargeant to draw the plans for the Walt Disney Railroad, i have a letter stating that because his dealings with Walt were private not too many people may know he was the guy, i have #1 thru #48, i have been researching this and become a big fan, that has led me to this Board, can anyone please help me fill in the blanks or what i can do to authenticate this material, this is real deal from Dick Bagley personal papers, the blueprints are identical to the one sold at the Rolly Crump Van eaton auction in 2018? but i have 47 more pages (old blue film paper type), i will figure out how to post pictures soon, thanks

Welcome aboard! If you want to post photos of them, that would be great. You might want to consider getting them professionally scanned. Not sure what info you're looking for, but feel free to ask any questions.

Cool collection of documents and blueprints!
As you can glean from the letter, after Walt built the Carolwood Pacific, there was a lot of interest among railfans. Orders for drawings of the locomotive were coming into the studio, so Walt formed the Walt Disney Miniature Railroad company in 1950. The drawings you have appear to be a set of the drawings they sold.
Eventually they started selling castings for various parts of the engine. Walt Disney Miniature Railroad was the "first step effectively separating Walt's personal interests and business activities from those of the stockholder-owned Walt Disney Productions," according to "Walt Disney's Railroad Story," by Michael Broggie. This company led directly to the creation of WDI, and later to WED and RETLAW.

Welcome, Rhinostomp!
It can be difficult to tell without examining the original, but based on the photos, yes, those documents seems to be authentic. If they aren't, someone went to an amazing level of detail in faking them.
As Steve suggests, it would be good to get them professionally scanned. If you're planning on keeping them, I would also get them insured. They aren't easily replaceable.

Hello everyone, check it out Heritage Auctions in Texas is listing the original plans for Carolwood railroad track in Walts backyard with some writing by Walt Disney, also a partial set of blueprints exactly like the ones i have, currently sits at $15,500.00 with 3 days left, ends 4-9-2021, i exchanged Emails and pics with them about the Blueprints i have, they told me it was a great piece and might use this auction as an idea of value, of course minus the other items besides Blueprints, if you check it out tell me what you think, thanks.
