Re: Knott's Berry Farm No. 41
"Arrow Development built all the ride systems for Disneyland in 1955, including it's a small world and pirates". I'm paraphrasing a bit, but come on. For a guy in animatronics, you'd think he'd at least get the basics right.

That's a bummer. I liked that little steamer very much. I wonder who bought it?

Re: Once Upon a Train: WDWRR
Thanks, LB! I intentionally didn't know much about Shanghai Disneyland the first time I went. Saw their train station, and went to go board a train... only to find out the station isn't a station: it's set dressing. I know why they omitted the railroad, but it's still very disappointing. Then again,...

Re: Big Thunder Mt. builder's plate?
[Resurrecting a thread from 2015!] Just curious if anyone here knows of any metal versions of the Big Thunder Iron Works builder's plates available for sale. There are wood or resin versions on Etsy, but they look hinkey to me. I know Tom Grace made several of these way back when and am hoping that ...

Re: Disneyland area history help?
Steve is (as always) correct: there was a tacky mini-golf place right across from what was the main entrance to the Park. Right underneath the power distribution poles. It vanished in the 90's, I think. The round structure to the south of it was Melodyland. I recall it was an evangelical church with...

Re: Once Upon a Train Episode 3: SF&D Combine
Well done. Got to see up close and personal recently when we visited Walt's Barn. I hope they do another Retlaw 1 reunion one of these days, I missed the last one... Thanks! Yes, I hope so, too. It's difficult and expensive to get the combine out of LALSRM, so -- unless Disney or some sponsor pays ...

Re: Tours are back!

I had no idea that they were using any footage of me. My daughter-in-law manages celebrity visits and arranged the RR tour for one. She was surprised to see me in the video they were shown!
