Re: C K HOLIDAY modeled with O Gauge track
Didn't even occur to me the chassis for your Disney locomotives are as old as the real locomotives you modeled them after!

Re: Very Quiet
I had a discussion with a co-worker about that very thing... Facebook simplifies the login/register process for a lot of people. There's tons of modeling groups on Facebook that all you need to do is click one button to join. Maybe Burnsland needs a "Login with Facebook" registration like ...

Re: Board update
Nice to see an update! Reminds me of an earlier version of the board. I do miss the "view new posts" link in the right corner, makes seeing the new stuff easier (unless I'm completely missing it!)

Re: Modeling the Viewliner-- A lunchtime project.
This is a UV cured resin, so I have already had it printed in that material. Next phase will be done in the "Frosted Ultra Detail Extreme" resin which will tighten up the layers with a sanding afterwards. But it's at least captured all the detailing as I had it in the model.

Re: Modeling the Viewliner-- A lunchtime project.
Got the first print sample today, first step into translating the Viewliner into the real world! This version of the model is a little old, since it was a couple versions back from what I posted earlier today. Gives a pretty good insight into what it actually looks like in 3 dimensions; some details...

Re: Modeling the Viewliner-- A lunchtime project.
^Thanks! Went back and remeasured the power chassis model and had a few dimensions that were off in the computer model. Off enough to mess up the sizing and proportions of the overall model. Turns out I need to make the Viewliner model smaller than what I had originally, keeping the truck centers on...

Re: Modeling the Viewliner-- A lunchtime project.
Modeled a crude version of the motor chassis that will be underneath the Viewliner's shell. This will help when it comes to designing the skirting around the trucks. http://i63.tinypic.com/14l27bc.png The model gives me a good idea of how the motor will sit inside and what needs to be adjusted. http...
