Re: Ward sounds like Marsh

When they got Maud L she came with the hooter that had been on the Jennie K. When she was in service on the CP&LE Maud had a three note Lunk, which I believe is on one of the Vulcans now I believe the Maud originally wore a 3 Chime Buckeye like the Walter, Lilly, and Roger over at the WDWRR whi...

Re: Ward sounds like Marsh

Then I guess the question is, when did the Crosby whistle first appear on Disneyland property? The Kimball started out with a single-chime Lunk. It was 4 years ago when the railroad went down for repainting it's a small world in February of 2014. I recall coming there in April for the Small World 5...

Re: Ward sounds like Marsh

When did the Marsh start wearing a Crosby? As far as I know, all she's ever worn since 1959 is a 3-chime, 4" Powell, while the other four engines have used either single- or 3-chime, 3" Lunkenheimers. Steve what I meant was that the Kimball had the Crosby from February 2014 or so, not the...

Re: Holiday/Retlaw 2 Numbering

There is a difference in the Gondolas. The original gondolas have 11 vertical support beams on the non-park side and 10 vertical support beams on the passenger load side just like the cattle cars. 5 on each side of the center loading step. The passenger loading side has a vertical beam with a stirr...

Re: Ward sounds like Marsh

Apparently Ward's whistle broke and is now sporting Marsh's spare whistle. Which I believe now puts her in the lead for most whistles worn on the Disneyland Railroad. Funny thing is this comes just short of the 4th anniversary of her wearing that Crosby too. For anyone who hasn't heard it yet...

Re: Holiday/Retlaw 2 Numbering

Holiday 400 and 500 joined the fleet the same time as Marsh for the Grand Canyon diorama. No, those cars arrived quite some time later, in 1966. If I recall correctly the reason for their arrival in 1966 was for the opening of the Primeval World diorama, which pretty much put the nail in the coffin...

Re: Holiday/Retlaw 2 Numbering

my guess would be the renumbering wouldn't have occurred till Holidays 4 and 5 were placed into service but I'm not sure as to when the dates would line up exactly. This would be my guess as well. Unfortunately, at this point, the evidence trail on the car numbering has gone dead for me. I'm not su...

Holiday/Retlaw 2 Numbering

For the Holiday 2/Retlaw 2 train, does anyone know when the train was renumbered into it's current 201 - 208 numbering assignment? From Steve's book, I became aware that originally the gondola's were in the 400 series, the Stock cars in the 300 series, and the caboose as 501 but I'm curious as to wh...

Re: Where the heck is the E.P. Ripley?!

Okay........ The Ripley actually posed with the Chloe, Marie, and Kimball for a private event on the opening day. As of now, they are currently having some mechanical issues with the engine and other minor problems with the cab signals or at least that's what has been going around as of late, but t...

It's in the roundhouse currently, it was only offsite for a couple of weeks to get repainted which they finished in mid July or so.
