Re: E.P. Ripley still AWOL?
A bit late to the game here, but I would assume that is a new bell yoke right? It certainly looks bigger than the original (would make sense with a larger bell) but also is lacking the air ringer cylinder mount that used to be there on the engineer's side.

Re: Great Thurl Revenscroft narration file
Wow, I haven't heard that narration that clear since hearing it live close to two decades ago. There was an audio file floating around that had chunks of the Thurl narration, some of it with a lot of background noise. DisneyChris.com is a treasure trove of audio from Disneyland. The biggest drawbac...

Re: E.P. Ripley still AWOL?
The last thread I've seen about the missing E.P. Ripley was back in 2018. Does anyone have an update about what the issue might be? I've also heard what altosax18 said as well that it initially was electrical issues, needing to redo all the wiring for the engine after the electrical systems were da...

Re: Knotts RR down
I pulled up a map online.....it was Western Ave they were talking about......and they said the RR would be raised on a berm much like Disney. I can see how it would work...but a major project and interruption. I could see the station area raised 6 feet with a underpass like the stage road has. But ...

Re: Knotts RR down
On a visit a few years ago on a very low attendance day we spent about an hour with the crew of the railroad. They talked about Knott's wanting to alter the RR by doing like Disney did and moving Knott's Ave (I think) and expanding the park to the lot across the street.....moving the rail line to g...

Re: E P Ripley
Any idea what the "problems" are? I've only heard rumors and speculation, but I've heard that the electrical systems on the Ripley need to be completely redone since the wiring was damaged when the engine was taken apart for wiring. Additionally, there have been murmurs that the running g...

Re: E P Ripley
What's happening with the Ripley? I haven't seen this locomotive in any recent videos or photos. Just wondering. Will be taking my first ever trip to Disneyland in March. Can't wait to see this railroad and park!!! Currently out of service with a multitude of problems though Disney presently does n...

Re: Freight House History
n the "comments" section, Mike Cozart explains that the freight house was originally the Frontierland restrooms! This would seem to explain the building's double sets of doors on either end. This is a neat bit of history I had never heard before. It's amazing that so far, not one clear ph...

Re: Does Walt Disney World need a 5th Locomotive?
It was traded to Cedar Point for the Maud L, which would become Disneyland Railroad #5, the 2nd Ward Kimball that is still in service today. Then it went from Cedar Point (where I saw it in person in the C.P. & L.E. R.R. engine house) to Knott's Berry Farm and then from Knott's Berry Farm back ...

Re: Does Walt Disney World need a 5th Locomotive?
I seem to remember reading that the engine didn't have enough power to pull the grade at WDW and they got rid of it. I don't remember if it was sold or given away...
