Re: Looking Back...
I'll emphasize that 2005 feels like 8 years ago to me, hence my shock of how long it's actually been, rather than time dragging on. Especially now that I have a 1 year old kiddo, I've already seen the sands of time blink faster than ever. Speaking of Engine 5, stumbled upon this the other day: https...

Looking Back...
2005. Very fond memories. On an old Macintosh with dial-up internet, I was searching "Disneyland Railroad" and patiently watching the images load very slowly, hoping I'd find one of this mysterious roundhouse that was new information to me at the time. No luck. Eventually the google links ...

Re: The Bell Telephone Hour Presents "The Sounds of America" (Disneyland 1961)
Very cool Sam! In the opening, it looks like the engine is making a pretty sweeping left-hand turn--not sure where that was, but it does give lie to the DL publicity department assertion that the recent track realignment for SWGE created the first left-hand turn in Park history! Also--great video o...

The Bell Telephone Hour Presents "The Sounds of America" (Disneyland 1961)
Stumbled onto this interesting musical film... lots of neat shots of the Marsh in action... also pulling only two cars!

Re: Disneyland Railroad Down For Track Replacement
Engine 3 snapped a drive axle a few years before the railroad went down... and that was without the eventual new "tighter curves" of the 2017 project. In regards to them changing the curve radius, that would involve a lot more work since the right of way has reach envelopes, evac routes, a...

Video: Behind the throttle of the Lilly Belle
Pretty nifty video I came across from 1990 showing a very steady view of the engineer's perspective from the cab of the Lilly Belle, traveling from the roundhouse, and a couple laps around the park. Quality is mediocre, but again, it's from 1990. Some neat off-ride views of the old Frontierland stat...

Re: New Disney Parks "Lilly Belle" set
That is an impressive stroke! I guess it's better than the WDW set they keep relabeling for west coast, with the same 2-6-0 for what seems like decades? But I guess the excursion cars are better in that set.

Re: injector on # 2
The workmanship is fantastic. Engine 2 has them on both sides, while 1,2, and 4 have them on just the fireman's side. Engine 5 is still "old school" until it goes out for rebuild eventually.
